Visual Studio 2005 Visualizers

by javery on July 13, 2005

I had the pleasure of writing an article on Visual Studio 2005 Visualizers for the latest issue of Dr. Dobb’s Journal. The article walks through what visualizers are, how they can be used, and then how to create your own visualizer. In the article I show how to create a visualizer for base64 encoded strings, including the ability to edit the string and save it back to your application.

The article is available to Dr. Dobb’s subscribers here.

Writing for Dr. Dobb’s was very cool, it was actually the first time that a magazine contacted me to write something instead of me contacting them. I guess the real test will be if they ask me again.
