No VS 2005 Beta for me

by javery on July 8, 2004

So I downloaded the DVD image, it look most of last weekend since it would mysteriously suspend the download at some points, but I finally got the thing. I mounted the .img file using Daemon Tools and then tried to install it on a Virtual PC image…  no dice. The framework installs, but the visual studio install dies with some strange error. (if someone from the team cares to investigate I have the log file)

I guess this weekend I will try downloading the CD ISOs and hopefully that will work.

Ouch! Well, I can say the CD ISOs worked for me. Best of luck.

The CD’s worked for me too… Nice thing is that they are directly mountable in VPC.

I did have to download CD2 twice though…

For the past VS2005 DVD’s I’ve had problems with them too. The only way I could ever get them to work would be to mount them via Daemon tools, copy all the files off into a local folder and then connect to that folder via VPC. Yeah, lots of drive space was consumed, to say the least…

Good luck on your install…

Had the same problem installing of mounted ISO CD images too & from checking the web I’m not the only one.

Burning to a real CD or copying the files off the mount both worked fine though.
