A couple of questions on the league scoring rules.

1. We select a lineup that’s set for a week. During the week, players gather stats and you get a rank against everyone else in the league for the stats category.

2. There are only 2 starting pitcher spots. What happens if your RP ends up starting? Does it matter?

3. How many players can you draft? Will it be more than your starting lineup? Is there any restriction on the number of 1Bs I can draft (as long as I draft enough to fill out a starting lineup)?

4. Do you have a link that shows how stats are rated so that I can understand the value of pitching versus hitting, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Sure.

1) You can change you lineup at any time, but you only have a set amount of games at a certain position. So if you change a bunch and get all your pichers playing every night you will run out before the end of the year.

2) Doesnt matter. Alot of pitchers are RP/SP and can play either, you get the same stats either way.

3) You draft all your starts and 5 players for the bench.

4) You get points based on where you are in various categories. If you are #1 in Avg then you will get 11 points. If you are #1 in Wins then you will get 11 points. If you are #2 you get 10 points, etc.

IM me if you need any more clarification. Some of the league settings can be found here.

Thanks. I saw the League Settings stuff, but it didn’t talk about how the actual stats were captured.

For example, is the ERA stat just for that week?

What happens if a pitcher comes in, walks a batter (so he has an appearance), but the runner never scores. He has a 0,00 ERA, but does it count that way in the league? Or, does he need to have an actual inning pitched (0.1, 0.2 or 1 – etc)?

What is WHIP?

How long do you think the draft will last? Is the draft set to the normal 30 second timeout between selections?

Thanks in advance for the help.

ERA is cumulative for the entire year. All the stats are also for the entire year. Here is some info on these types of leagues: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/baseball/brules/brules-05.html

WHIP is walks and hits per innings pitched.

I never remember how long the drafts are, I usually do stuff while I am drafting so it seems to go by quick. I think the timeout is 30.
